# Activity

> See document processing, matches, and sync events as they happen.

The **Activity log** shows what ClearSpend is doing in real time — uploads parsing, invoices matching, and integration syncs.

## When to use it

* You just uploaded files and want to know when they'll appear on **Subscriptions**
* An integration **Sync now** finished and you want to confirm results
* A charge shows **Pending** reconciliation and you want to see match attempts

## Open Activity

| Where                          | Best for                                          |
| ------------------------------ | ------------------------------------------------- |
| **Header → Activity Log icon** | Quick peek while working; grouped by subscription |
| **Sidebar → Activity**         | Full table, sortable, paginated                   |
| **Subscriptions → View logs**  | After a bulk upload on the subscriptions page     |

## Status badges

| Status                | Meaning                                                                         |
| --------------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **New**               | Just recorded; may still be processing                                          |
| **Needs review**      | Needs human approval — see [Needs review](/features/subscriptions#needs-review) |
| **Invoice match**     | Document matched to a charge                                                    |
| **Transaction match** | Charge linked to billing history                                                |
| **Grouped**           | Subscription grouped under another subscription                                 |
| **No match**          | Couldn't auto-match — may need manual review                                    |

Click any subscription name to open its detail page.

## Permissions

All roles can view Activity. Only **Members** and above can upload or approve items that create new log entries.

## Something wrong?

| Symptom                          | What to do                                                                                     |
| -------------------------------- | ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Stuck on **New** for a long time | Wait 2–5 minutes; large batches take longer                                                    |
| **No match** on many rows        | Upload may not match vendor — check [Documents](/features/documents)                           |
| Nothing in Activity after upload | Confirm upload succeeded; Viewers can't upload — [Troubleshooting](/reference/troubleshooting) |
