# Limits and formats

> File sizes, supported types, and upload caps for every ClearSpend upload path.

Upload limits depend on **which screen** you use. This table is the source of truth.

## File size and count limits

| Upload path | Max file size | Max files | Supported types |
| -------------------------------------------------------------- | ------------- | -------------- | ------------------ |
| **+ Add Data Source → Upload Invoices/Receipts**               | 10 MB         | 20             | PDF, JPG, CSV      |
| **+ Add Data Source → Import subscriptions** (card statements) | 10 MB         | 20             | CSV                |
| **Subscription detail → upload**                               | 10 MB         | Per dialog     | PDF, JPG           |
| **Needs review → approve with documents**                      | 8 MB          | 10             | CSV, PDF           |
| **Public upload link** (`/p/<token>`)                          | 8 MB          | 20 per session | PDF, JPG, PNG      |
| **Chrome extension popup** | 8 MB | Varies | PDF, JPG, PNG, CSV |

<Note>
  **Why two sizes?** In-app bulk uploads allow **10 MB**; public and review flows cap at **8 MB** for faster processing and consistent recipient experience.
</Note>

## Statement CSV tips

* Export from your card portal as **CSV** when importing subscriptions in bulk.
* Include columns for **date**, **merchant/description**, and **amount** when possible.
* ClearSpend matches merchants to known vendors; unknown rows may create new subscriptions or land in [Needs review](/features/subscriptions#needs-review).

## Invoice and receipt formats

* **PDF** and **JPG** work for individual invoices and receipts.
* Scanned PDFs and photos are supported; OCR extracts vendor, amount, and date.
* Multi-page PDFs are treated as one document.

## Integration limits (by plan)

Integration caps depend on your ClearSpend plan. Check **Settings → Billing** for your workspace's **Integrations** usage meter. When you're at the limit, **Connect** is blocked until you upgrade or remove a connection. See [Billing](/settings/billing#usage-limits).
