Control renewal reminder timing, email recipients, and Slack delivery from Settings → Notifications.
Channels
Toggle Email notifications on or off using the switch. When enabled, ClearSpend sends renewal reminders and alerts to the configured recipients.
What you’ll be notified about
Notifications cover three kinds of events, all delivered to whichever channels you’ve turned on:
- Upcoming renewals: heads-up before a subscription auto-charges.
- Monthly summary: a list of every subscription renewing in the current month, sent at the start of each month.
- Document requests: a notification to the recipient when someone asks them to upload a missing invoice via Request documents.
Renewal reminders
Choose any combination of:
- 1 day before the renewal
- 3 days before
- 7 days before
- 15 days before
You can pick more than one. Many teams use 7 days for planning and 1 day as a final check.
Monthly summary
At the start of each month, ClearSpend sends a summary of every subscription scheduled to renew during that month. Each row includes the vendor, amount, and renewal date so you can review the full month’s renewals without logging in.
Slack
Slack is connected from Integrations, not this tab. Once connected, the workspace Owner receives renewal alerts in Slack as well as email.

Recipients
Add or remove email addresses that should receive renewal alerts. The Owner is always included by default.
Add a shared finance alias as a recipient so renewal alerts route to whoever’s on rotation, not just one person.
