The Review tab appears in the sidebar only when ClearSpend is unsure about something and needs a decision from your team. If there is nothing to confirm, the tab stays hidden. The Review page is your approval queue. When ClearSpend detects something that needs a human decision, it places it here first instead of making the change automatically. This page is mainly used for subscription review. In most cases, ClearSpend found a document or charge and believes it should create or reactivate a subscription, but wants someone on your team to confirm first.

What you see on this page

Each row shows two parts:
  • Cause: what ClearSpend found
  • Effect: what ClearSpend wants to do next
For example, ClearSpend may detect an invoice and propose Create subscription. You also see:
  • Flagged: when the item entered the queue
  • Detected via: where it came from, such as Gmail, Google Drive, Plaid, or manual upload
  • Review button: opens the detail panel for action

When to use Review

Open this page when:
  • the sidebar shows a Review count
  • a document was imported but the subscription is not active yet
  • you want to confirm or reject a suggested subscription
  • you want to prevent a bad or duplicate suggestion from being added

What happens when you approve

Open a row and click Approve when the suggestion looks correct. For subscription items, approval usually does one of these:
  • creates the subscription and makes it active
  • links the item to an existing matching subscription instead of creating a duplicate
  • lets related charges reconcile once the subscription is in place
If the suggestion is wrong, you can reject or delete it from the review flow.

Filter tabs

The tabs at the top help you focus the queue: Most teams will mainly use the Subscription tab.

A simple way to work through the queue

  1. Open the Review page.
  2. Start with the oldest or newest flagged items.
  3. Click Review on a row.
  4. Confirm the suggestion if it looks right.
  5. Reject or delete it if it does not belong in your workspace.

After review

Approved subscriptions move into Subscriptions. If there are linked charges, they can also appear more cleanly on Transactions. Rejected or deleted items leave the queue and do not become active.
